What changed in each version, newest first
Step Step is built by a husband & wife team, and updated often. Nearly everything below started as a message from someone using the app, so if something is missing or bothering you, tell us: support@step-step.app.
-
Version 1.5
In preparationDaily step widgets now match the main Step Step ring, including a clear Goal Hit badge, improved goal labels and support for six-figure step counts.
- The monthly steps calendar now uses the same half-moon ring language as Home.
- The moon loading animation is smoother, with a true new-moon phase and no visible loop jump.
- Settings is split into safer rendering sections to prevent a crash seen on the iOS 27 beta.
- Workout goals can cover any workout or a chosen group of activities, with flexible counting and exclusions.
- Privacy-friendly anonymous usage analytics help guide improvements. They never include health data or anything you enter, and can be turned off at any time in Settings → Privacy.
-
Version 1.4
A new home for widgets and complications. Settings now has a proper guide showing every widget at its real size, drawn with your own numbers, plus step-by-step instructions for the Home Screen, the Lock Screen and your watch face.
- Evening streak reminders are more accurate. The step count in the reminder is now checked much closer to the time it arrives, so it no longer quotes a number from hours earlier.
- Apple Watch: tapping a steps complication always lands on your steps, clearing whatever screen was open before. It no longer reopens on floors, the weight page or the workout picker.
- Share cards now label sizes by aspect ratio (9:16, 4:5, 1:1) instead of platform names, so it is clear what shape you are exporting.
- Sharing a completed workout goal is now available to everyone.
- Plus translation fixes across all 12 supported languages.
-
Version 1.3
Workout notes now support rich text. Add headings, bold, lists and dividers from the format bar, and see the layout as you type.
- Workout names are now translated in every language the app supports.
- New "Goal Hit" share card. Capture the moment your step ring crosses 100%.
- Hit your step goal on the day of a full moon and you’ll earn the Full Moon Night medal, with an evening reminder if you’re close.
- Apple Fitness+ sessions are now tagged on the workout detail screen, and you can filter for them.
- Apple Watch: fixed complications that could sit on zero steps all day. Your step goal history now syncs too, so past days are scored against the goal you had that day.
- Widgets and complications: the goal line now steps with your goal changes instead of drawing one flat line.
- Plus translation fixes, a clearer language switcher and a simpler race time picker.
-
Version 1.2
Workout notes got a big upgrade. Format your notes with bold, italics, titles and bullet points, with handy formatting buttons built into the editor.
- The Workouts tab now opens on the month view, a better home for your training at a glance.
- Share Step Step with friends straight from Settings, and leave us a review from there too.
- Clearer pricing display for all currencies.
- Lots of small fixes and polish based on your feedback.
-
Version 1.1
Streaks just got more honest. Your streak now counts only the days you truly hit your step goal. Shields still protect your streak on a rest day, they just don’t add to the number anymore. Your streak may look a little smaller after this update, but every day in it is one you earned.
- The weight card on your home screen now follows your unit setting (kg, lb, or stone).
- Clearer explanations of how shields work, on the Shields page and in onboarding.
-
